Cancer in the right breast
operation, radiotherapy, clear
Cancer in the left breast
Two operations, radiotherapy, clear
Â
“Doctor can you confirm
The cancer’s gone for ever”
“No we check you regularly
But sorry can’t say never”
Â
“Be positive from day to day
and smile even when you’re blue”
“A happy lady is what you are
We’re glad we have met you”
DYSLEXIA
There were words I could not see
A foreign language to me
But this is today
And come what may
I think I have it beat
BAMBI
We love to use our Bambi
A motorised caravan
It’s proportions are small
But it has nearly all
The amenities used by man
UNCONDITIONAL LOVE
They arrived here on a Saturday night
a sleepy child in tow
She snuggled on the bed with me
“I love you Nan you know”
Â
My weariness just flew away
those loving words to hear
“I love you too ” was my reply
“To me you’re very dear”
DAVE
There once was a guy called Dave
who disliked having a shave
So he grew a beard
Said this is weird
‘Cause the hair in the bear has a wave
LIZ
There was a girl called Liz
who they thought got in a tiz
But when they looked
and her output was ‘booked’
She turned out to be quite a whizz!!
Walk With Zuri
Walk With Zuri
We went for a walk
My baby and I
She played through the grass
I questioned the sky.
She talked to the ants
I followed the birds
She laughed and was answered
IÂ hoarded my words.
We went for a walk
My baby and I
She, full of hello
And I of goodbye.

Limer–eek
An overambitious old poet
Said:”Dammit I thought I could do it
But this poem-a-day
Is giving me way
Too much grief so I think I’ll let go it!!
