SLEEP
She sat upon the edge of the bed
Desperate for some sleep
She gave a cough
And then dropped off
To sleep and sleep and sleep
MY POETRY
Now the end is clearly near
I see the finish line
I thank you for this opportunity
To share with you my rhyme
Â
Whether it’s deemed as very good
or only passing fair
I have enjoyed it and will rhyme some more
All the time and everywhere
THE CANDLES LIGHT
There’s a candle in your window
Is it waiting there for me
Shall I come along and visit
Is it me you want to see?
Â
The hour is midnight
The candle fades and dies
Was there just to light the path
Please tell me no lies
Â
The candle just went out you say
No wick was left to burn
Yes the candle was there for me
Now to your I will return
CHEER UP
When you’re feeling lonely
When you’re feeling sad
Think of all the good things you have
Then you may not feel so bad
COME TO TEA
Will you come to our house
Will you come to tea
Will you come and eat with us
My husband, Fred and me
Â
Yes we’ll come to your house
Yes we’ll come to tea
Yes we’ll come and eat ith you
My brother Ted and me
A ROBIN
I saw a robin resting on a post
Snow was all around
It sat there very happily
and then flew down to the ground
Â
Will he find some food today
not very much I fear
But remember when you put food out
Make it small for them
And perhaps he’ll be back next year
MY HUSBAND
My husband is a nice man
My husband is a boff
My husband had a cold this week
With an awful hacking cough
Â
Will you take to your bed dear
Till better you may be
“No, I have a lot to do
and a lot to see”
Â
My husband is caring man
and when he recovers from his cough
We’ll have a few days away
and he’ll be better sure enough
