To register as a contributor to the poetry site simply add user name and email here and wait for the confirmation email with your password in it.

Then log in.

On the left hand site of the screen is the ‘Dashboard’ and in a column are things like post, media, links. Click on the very faint down arrow at the corner of the Posts, this will produce a drop down menu. Click Add New – two boxes will appear underneath the title Add New Page. The first, smaller, and less obvious box is for the title of your poem; the second is for the body or writing of your poem.

If you wish the poem to be Private add “- Private” to the title before clicking publish in the right hand column. There are other settings such as the date/time the post goes live/is published which you might want to play with.

There are two options for the type of editor you can use – we would prefer it if you used HTML – this isn’t scary so we will walk you through it.

To make a word a link you use brackets like this [word you want as link](long scary looking url).

To create a line break, write <br>

There are many other tags that can be used to help you format the poem the way you want it – if you’re interested you read up on it here.

But we wont shoot you for using the visual editor!
